Workiz Account Access: Login Steps and Common Fixes

The Workiz login process requires a username and password, with a one-time passcode when two-factor authentication is active. Workiz also documents Google and Facebook as third-party sign-in options, but users should follow the method already connected to their company account.

This is an independent help article. It is not affiliated with or operated by Workiz.

Workiz is a field service management platform used for scheduling, dispatching, job management, customer records, invoicing, payments, and communication between office staff and field technicians.

Where Employees and Technicians Log In

The browser login is intended for company owners, dispatchers, office employees, and technicians who have been given a Workiz user account. The documented sign-in screen asks for a username and password. When 2FA is enabled, Workiz sends a one-time passcode to the phone connected to the user profile.

Use the Workiz web application or the Workiz mobile app obtained from the device’s normal app store. Do not enter company credentials into a third-party “portal finder,” downloadable browser extension, or page that merely resembles the Workiz screen.

Check the page address first.

Workiz also supports tablet use in two forms: the mobile application or the web application opened through a tablet browser. Its documentation specifically identifies iPads, Galaxy Tabs, and other Android tablets as compatible device categories for these access routes.

The mobile app is not only a smaller copy of the office dashboard. Workiz documents mobile access to the Message Center, client lists, existing client communication, and the creation of jobs, invoices, and estimates for a selected client. What appears on screen can vary according to the employee’s permissions and the features enabled for the company.

Choose the Right Sign-In Method

A common login mistake is switching authentication methods without realizing it. Someone who originally entered through Google may try typing a separate password into the standard login fields. Another user may attempt Google sign-in even though the company created a conventional username-and-password account.

Start with the method previously used on that account. Skip password changes until you have ruled out a sign-in-method mismatch.

Workiz’s current login documentation names three possible routes:

  • Username and password
  • Google authentication
  • Facebook authentication

The availability of a button on the screen does not prove that it is connected to a particular employee profile. When a third-party button opens the wrong workspace or produces a new-account flow, close it rather than continuing. Ask the administrator which email address and login method were assigned.

One more distinction causes confusion: Workiz users and a company’s customers do not necessarily use the same interface. Workiz offers a separate Client Portal through which customers may view services, review and approve estimates, pay invoices, approve jobs, and examine payment history. A customer payment link is not the employee dashboard.

Resetting Your Own Workiz Password

A user who cannot remember the password should use the password-recovery option on the Workiz login screen. The recovery message goes to the login email associated with the user profile.

Users who remain signed in can change their own passwords from inside Workiz. The documented path is:

  1. Select Team from the navigation bar.
  2. Open your user profile.
  3. Select Reset password in the upper-right corner.
  4. Enter the current password.
  5. Enter the replacement password.
  6. Select Change.

That route requires access to the current session and current password. It is not the right procedure for someone who is completely locked out.

Do not request multiple recovery emails in rapid succession. Wait for the message, inspect spam or filtering folders, and confirm that you are checking the mailbox tied to the Workiz profile rather than a general company inbox.

If no message appears, the administrator should verify the profile email. An outdated login email is an account-record problem, not a browser problem.

When an Administrator Must Reset Access

Workiz provides administrators with a separate password-reset action for team members. The administrator opens the profile icon, selects Manage team, chooses the affected user, and then selects Actions > Reset password. The user receives an email containing a link for setting a replacement password.

This route is useful when the employee cannot begin recovery independently or needs confirmation that the correct profile is being reset.

It does not reveal the employee’s existing password.

An administrator may also need to update the login email. Workiz says that this capability is limited to roles with the User settings permission. After the Email field is changed and the change is confirmed, the user receives a password-reset link and must update the password to complete the email change.

That last step matters. Merely editing the Email field does not finish the process.

A user who cannot see the email-editing option should not keep searching through unrelated menus. Ask an owner or administrator with the required permission to handle it.

Why the Workiz Verification Code Is Missing

Two-factor authentication adds a one-time passcode after the password stage. Workiz states that the code is texted to the phone associated with the account during login. The phone number stored in the user profile must be capable of receiving text messages.

Use this order:

  1. Confirm that the password stage was accepted.
  2. Check which phone number is attached to the user profile.
  3. Verify that the device has cellular service.
  4. Wait briefly for delayed text delivery.
  5. Restart the login rather than reusing an older code.
  6. Contact support if the registered number is no longer available.

Workiz directs users who have lost access to the registered 2FA phone number to its support team.

Never forward the one-time passcode to a coworker or paste it into an ordinary email. A legitimate code should be entered only into the authenticated Workiz process that requested it.

Two-factor authentication has effects beyond login. Workiz states that, once enabled, one-time passcodes can also be required for sensitive Workiz Pay changes involving a bank account, instant payouts, or a statement descriptor.

That can explain a second passcode request after the user is already inside the account. It is not necessarily a repeated login.

Logged In, but the Menu Is Incomplete

This problem often looks like a failed installation. It usually needs an administrator check first.

Workiz permits companies to customize user roles and permissions. Its user documentation includes controls for restricting employees to assigned jobs, limiting financial-data visibility, restricting dashboards, preventing technicians from closing jobs, and deciding whether technicians may charge credit cards.

A technician may therefore sign in successfully and see fewer tools than a dispatcher. Two employees using the same application can have different sidebars, job access, and financial controls.

Ask the administrator to compare:

  • The affected user’s assigned role
  • The permission attached to that role
  • Whether the feature belongs to the company’s current setup
  • Whether another employee truly has the same role

Do this before reinstalling the app.

Permissions can also explain why an instruction from the Workiz Help Center does not match an employee’s screen. For example, Workiz explicitly says that changing a login email requires the User settings permission.

The interface may be working exactly as configured.

Browser or App Problem?

Test one access route against another.

When the web login fails, open a private browser window and enter the Workiz web application directly. A private session can separate an account problem from stale cookies or an extension that modifies page scripts. Testing another current browser can provide the same distinction.

When the mobile app fails, check its store page for an available update, close the application completely, and reopen it. Switching once between Wi-Fi and mobile data can identify a local connection problem.

Then test the same account through the browser.

If browser access works but the app does not, focus on the device, app version, or network. If both routes reject the same login, prioritize the account email, password, authentication method, 2FA number, and administrator status.

Workiz’s Android listing describes the app as supporting scheduling, invoicing, payment processing, and other field-service functions. Its iOS listing also describes job management and communication between technicians and customers. Some capabilities may depend on the account configuration and device platform.

Contacting Workiz Support Safely

Workiz identifies the chat bubble in the lower-right corner of its Help Center or web application as its quickest support route. The official help article also lists support by email and phone.

Its contact page currently publishes support hours of 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific Time Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time Saturday and Sunday. Hours can change, so verify them on the contact page before relying on them.

A useful report should contain:

  • Company or workspace name
  • Affected user’s name
  • Web, Android, iPhone, or tablet
  • Approximate time of failure
  • Exact visible error text
  • Whether password recovery arrived
  • Whether 2FA texts are arriving
  • Troubleshooting already attempted

Leave out passwords, one-time codes, payment-card data, and banking information.

For most login cases, support does not need a long narrative. The account identifier, affected platform, error text, and recovery status are more useful than repeated descriptions such as “it doesn’t work.”

Workiz Login FAQ

Can I log in to Workiz with Google?

Workiz documents Google authentication as an available login method. It will work for your profile only when that method is associated with the account you were given.

Does Workiz have a mobile app?

Yes. It is available for Android and iOS.

Why did Workiz ask for another code after login?

With 2FA enabled, Workiz may require an additional one-time passcode for sensitive Workiz Pay changes, including modifications to bank-account, instant-payout, or statement-descriptor settings.

Can my manager see my existing password?

The documented administrator process sends the user a reset link. It does not display the existing password.

Why can’t I see Workiz Pay?

The account may lack the required role, permission, subscription feature, or Workiz Pay setup. Ask the company administrator to inspect the account configuration before assuming that the app is malfunctioning.

Is the Workiz Client Portal the employee login?

No. The Client Portal is designed for a company’s customers to review services, approve estimates or jobs, pay invoices, and view related records. Employees use the company’s Workiz account interface.

Can Workiz run on an iPad?

Workiz documents both its mobile application and browser-based web application as tablet access options.

What should I check before contacting support?

Verify the sign-in method, login email, password-reset delivery, 2FA phone number, device type, and assigned permissions. Record the exact error, then use Workiz’s authenticated chat or published support channels.

Start with the account record, not a reinstall. A correct login email and authentication method resolve more access confusion than repeated device changes.
