Workiz is a field service management platform used to schedule jobs, dispatch workers, maintain customer records, create invoices, and coordinate work outside the office. Existing users should enter through the Workiz web application or its official mobile app using the login method attached to their company profile.

This guide is independent and is not affiliated with Workiz.

A person who can sign in but cannot see a job, client history, dashboard, or financial amount may not have a technical problem at all. Workiz assigns capabilities through roles and permissions, so the next check should usually be the employee’s role rather than another password reset.

What Workiz Does

Workiz brings several field-service workflows into one business account. Its public feature pages describe tools for scheduling, dispatching, job management, estimates, invoices, payment collection, client communication, mobile field work, and performance tracking.

The platform is designed around different types of work.

An owner may review business activity and configure the account. A dispatcher can organize appointments and assign technicians. A technician may use the mobile application to view daily jobs, communicate with customers, and complete permitted administrative work in the field. Workiz’s mobile listings describe access to job schedules, invoicing, payment processing, and communication tools, although the exact functions visible to a user depend on the company’s setup.

Those differences are intentional.

Two people can belong to the same company and receive noticeably different Workiz screens.

Where to Access Workiz

Employees and technicians should use the Workiz company-user application rather than a customer invoice page, an unofficial login directory, or a search result that merely discusses the product.

On a phone, install the Workiz Field Service Software application from Apple’s App Store or Google Play. The official listings identify Workiz as a business application for field-service scheduling, invoicing, payment processing, job management, and team communication.

For browser use, reach the application from Workiz’s official website or use the company-user address previously provided by the employer. Save the correct page after the first successful login so that a broad web search is not required every day.

Check the domain before entering account information. Skip any page that asks for unusual information unrelated to a normal Workiz sign-in.

Never send a password or one-time authentication code to a person offering to log in on your behalf.

Why a New Technician May Be Unable to Log In

Downloading the mobile application does not automatically connect a worker to an employer’s Workiz account. A person with administrative authority must add the worker as a team member and configure the appropriate access.

Workiz’s current help documentation says new users such as technicians, dispatchers, and managers are added through the team-management area. That article was updated on April 17, 2026, making it particularly relevant to the current onboarding process.

The administrator should verify:

  • The employee was added to the correct company account.
  • The profile uses an email the employee can access.
  • The correct role was assigned.
  • The employee was created as a user rather than an unsuitable account type.
  • The user received the employer’s intended sign-in instructions.

The role selection matters because Workiz starts accounts with role categories including Admin, Manager, Dispatcher, and Tech. Workiz states that the Tech role is restricted by default from viewing jobs assigned to other users.

Do role setup first. Skip broad permissions until the worker’s actual duties require them.

A technician who only needs assigned appointments should not automatically receive the same account powers as a manager or administrator.

Why Jobs Are Missing After Login

A technician may open Workiz successfully and find an incomplete schedule. The fastest check is the job assignment.

Workiz allows users to be restricted to jobs specifically assigned to them. Its official documentation says the default Tech role already prevents the technician from seeing jobs assigned to other users.

This creates several possible situations:

  • The job exists but is assigned to another technician.
  • The dispatcher has not assigned anyone yet.
  • The employee’s account is correctly limited to assigned work.
  • The worker entered another company workspace.
  • A screen filter is hiding part of the schedule.

Do not reset the password for this symptom. Authentication is working when the user is already inside the account.

Ask the dispatcher to open the affected job and confirm the assigned team member. If several technicians are intended to receive it, the company should verify that each required worker has been attached according to its normal assignment process.

A useful support report should name one missing job and one affected user. “My schedule is empty” is less diagnostic than a specific appointment that the dispatcher can see but the assigned technician cannot.

Why Client History Is Hidden

A technician may see the current client and job but not earlier work completed for that customer. Workiz treats client job history as a permission-controlled function.

Its help documentation instructs administrators to open Settings, enter Roles & permissions, select the relevant role, ensure the Clients and Jobs report permissions are active, and turn on Client job history before saving.

That is a concrete account configuration issue.

An app reinstall will not enable it.

The company should decide whether historical client information is necessary for the technician’s work. In some trades, access to previous repairs can help diagnose a recurring problem. In other businesses, owners may intentionally limit what field personnel can review.

The priority is least-required access. Enable the information needed to complete the job, but do not widen every permission simply to make one screen resemble the manager’s account.

Why the Dashboard or Feature Center Is Missing

Workiz permits administrators to restrict an entire dashboard or individual dashboard information through role settings. Its dashboard-restriction instructions place those controls under Settings > Users & roles > Roles & permissions.

The same general permission model affects other areas.

Workiz documentation for purchase orders, automations, and subcontractor tools tells users who cannot see the Feature Center or related options to ask an administrator whether their role has the Account Settings permission.

That gives administrators a reliable diagnostic rule:

  1. Confirm the feature is enabled for the company.
  2. Confirm the user’s role permits access.
  3. Confirm the employee is in the expected workspace.
  4. Only then troubleshoot the browser or application.

A hidden feature and a page that fails to load are different problems. The former points toward authorization; the latter may involve the device, browser, network, or service.

Keep those paths separate.

Financial Information and Payment Access

Workiz allows financial visibility to be customized by role. Its help documentation says permissions can determine whether team members see items such as prices, totals, and costs.

This means a technician may be able to open a job without seeing all financial details associated with it. An owner may choose that setup for privacy, operational, or internal-control reasons.

Payment access can also differ from ordinary job access. Workiz publicly describes invoicing and payment processing as parts of its field-service platform, but that does not mean every employee receives authority to manage those functions.

Check permissions before reporting a missing total or payment control.

Banking and payment-account changes should be completed only by an authorized company representative inside an authenticated Workiz session. Never provide login codes, passwords, or bank credentials through an unsolicited email, text, or phone call.

Mobile App Opens but a Tool Is Absent

The Workiz mobile app also follows role permissions. One documented example is access to the mobile dialer.

Workiz says an administrator can grant dialer access by opening Settings, selecting Roles & permissions, choosing a role, and enabling the appropriate Voice and Call report permissions before saving.

That detail demonstrates why mobile troubleshooting should begin with comparison:

  • Does another employee with the same role see the tool?
  • Does the affected employee see it in the browser?
  • Did an administrator recently change the role?
  • Is the underlying company feature enabled?
  • Is the app current?

When only one user lacks the feature, compare role assignments. When every user lacks it, inspect the company-level feature and service status.

Update the app from the official marketplace and reopen it after confirming permissions. Reinstalling should come later because it removes local app state without correcting server-side authorization.

Password and Account-Recovery Problems

A failed login needs a different sequence from a missing feature.

Start by verifying the exact email or username associated with the company profile. Employees sometimes try a personal email while the administrator created the account with a work address, or the reverse.

Use the password-recovery action shown by Workiz rather than guessing repeatedly. Then check the mailbox attached to the profile, including spam and automated-message folders.

If the recovery message never arrives, the company administrator should inspect the user profile before the employee requests more messages. An incorrect or inaccessible account email cannot be repaired by clearing browser cookies.

A few practical distinctions help:

  • Login page rejects credentials: inspect the account identity and password.
  • Recovery email is absent: inspect the profile email and mail delivery.
  • Login succeeds but features are absent: inspect roles and permissions.
  • The same page fails for several users: inspect service or network availability.
  • Browser works but mobile fails: inspect the app, device, and connection.

Do not mix these categories. Changing a password will not expose a restricted dashboard, and granting a permission will not correct a mistyped login email.

User or Subcontractor Access

Workiz distinguishes paid users from certain subcontractor arrangements. Its documentation says a free subcontractor may be assigned to jobs and receive SMS notifications but cannot log in to the Workiz account.

This is easy to miss during onboarding.

A business owner may tell a subcontractor to download Workiz even though the profile was configured only for assignment notifications. The person then searches for a password that was never intended to exist.

Confirm the account type before troubleshooting login.

Workiz’s subcontractor documentation also says the feature is enabled as an add-on and may require the administrator to turn on the relevant account setting.

The distinction varies with the company’s configuration and subscription. The employer should verify the current arrangement inside its account rather than assuming every person listed under the team receives application access.

When to Contact Workiz Support

Contact Workiz after the company has checked the profile, role, job assignment, and affected platform.

Include:

  • The company workspace name
  • The affected user
  • The user’s assigned role
  • Web, iPhone, Android, or multiple platforms
  • Exact visible error text
  • Approximate time the issue occurred
  • One example of a missing job or feature
  • Whether coworkers have the same problem
  • The checks already completed

Keep passwords and authentication codes out of the report.

Workiz maintains an official Help Center covering team management, permissions, assigned-job restrictions, mobile access, financial visibility, and other account functions. Use those official resources before following instructions from an unaffiliated login page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Workiz?

Field service management software.

Who normally uses Workiz?

Owners, managers, dispatchers, technicians, and other team members at field-service companies may use Workiz. The interface and available actions depend on the role and permissions assigned by the business.

Why can my dispatcher see more jobs than I can?

Your account may use the Tech role or another role restricted to assigned jobs. Workiz states that its default Tech role cannot see jobs assigned to other users.

Can a subcontractor log in to Workiz?

Not in every setup. Workiz says a free subcontractor can receive job assignments and SMS notifications but cannot log in to the account. The employer should confirm whether the person was added as a paid user or under a subcontractor arrangement.

Why can’t I see customer job history?

The selected role may lack the Clients, Jobs report, or Client job history permission. An administrator can review those controls in the Roles & permissions area.

Why is financial data missing?

Workiz allows companies to hide prices, totals, costs, and related financial information according to a user’s role. The owner or administrator should decide whether the employee requires that access.

Does Workiz have a mobile application?

Yes. Official versions are listed in Apple’s App Store and Google Play for field-service scheduling, job management, invoicing, communication, and other supported functions.

Should I reinstall Workiz when a menu is missing?

Not first. Ask an administrator to verify the feature, workspace, role, and permissions. Reinstall only after those checks show that the account should have access and the problem appears limited to the mobile installation.

For most Workiz access problems, identify the symptom before changing anything. Failed authentication belongs to the login path; missing jobs and tools belong to assignments, account types, and permissions.
